Siemens EWSD Switching Network (SN) - Creates the connections between subscribers connected to the Siemens EWSD system.
Siemens EWSD Signaling System Network Control (SSNC) - Controls the SS7 signalling traffic.
The Siemens EWSD periphery is comprised of the following:
Siemens EWSD Line Trunk Group (LTG) - Connects subscribers and trunks to and within the EWSD system. These are some different types of LTGs:
- LTG(M): GSMYAA, GSMYDC, GPLSD, DIU120, PMUD, PMUE, GPLC, etc...
- LTG(N): GPNYD, GPNYE, GPNLD, GPNLE, etc.
- LTG(P): GPPYF, GPPYG, GPPYH, etc.
Siemens EWSD Digital Line Unit (DLU) - Connects subscribers and concentrates the traffic to the LTG. These are some different types of DLUs:
- DLU(A): SLMA:COS, SLMA:CMRL,
- DLU(B): SLMA:FPE, DLUS30, ALEX, SLMD:QFB
- DLU(G): SLMA:ITM, SLMA:ITF, SLMD:QFB, SLMI:xxx, etc.
Siemens EWSD Remote Switching Unit (RSU) - Connects subscribers and trunks; can replace Siemens EWSD local exchanges.
Siemens EWSD Synchronous Transport Module Interface (STMI) - Provides a fully integrated STM-1 interface between the Siemens EWSD switch and the SDH network.
Siemens EWSD Host Timeslot Interchange (HTI) - For connection of the Siemens EWSD RSU Platform.
